The first foreign tourists came to the
French Riviera alredy in the middle of the 18th century. Most of them were
from noble brittish families they of course loved the mild and sunny weather
here between the mountains and the sea. They constructed the beautiful
boardwalk "Promenade des Anglais" that today remindes of a 3 Km long streetcafé.
